As a longtime labor and employment partner with Proskauer Rose LLP and the firm’s former Chairman, Allen Fagin has combined both a sophisticated practice with a concern for those in need of legal aid. In a Metropolitan Corporate Counsel article from December 2012, Mr. Fagin and his colleagues emphasized the firm’s commitment to providing quality legal services to disadvantaged people through its Pro Bono Initiative.

Mr. Fagin described the establishment of the Initiative as a reflection of the firm’s recent expansion into new markets worldwide. As the firm’s global infrastructure has expanded, partners have come to a consensus that pro bono activities should be recognized as a significant avenue for contributing to society. In addition, the Pro Bono Initiative provides a platform for the development of a dynamic training program for young lawyers.

Allen Fagin further characterized pro bono arena work as an ideal springboard for lawyers to expand professional capacities beyond their everyday professional duties. He envisions a robust pro bono program that will extend throughout all levels of the firm, from recently hired associates to senior partners.
